Text Coding:
The Text Coding application needed to provide the ability to search through consumer survey responses and extract specific store, or manufacturer names. The extracted items would then need to be converted into specific codes for reporting.
Initial Issues:

• Thousands of misspellings for a given store or manufacture.
• Data file from vendor contains multiple data columns. Some data responses are to be left untouched.
• Data needs to be moved from relational format to fixed locations and married with an additional data file.
• Reduce costs compaired to outsourcing.

• Threading (allows user to multitask while application is running in the background)

XML Reader for Confirmit®:
Confirmit is an ASP product typically used to quickly gather information via online questionnaires, for a variety of industries. Confirmit allows the programmers of the questionnaire to export the programming for the online questionnaire in an XML format. Although the XML file contains all the logic for the questionnaire, it does not lend itself to be easily reviewed. Rouse Solutions created a small browser based application that allows the XML file to be parsed and displayed in a user friendly format without the issues of distributing a "Desktop Application".
Initial Issues:

• Employees are not familiar with XML need to review questionnaire programming in an easy to follow format.
• ConfirmIt XML file is well formed, but currently there is no DTD for validation.

• Browser based Appication (No custom installation required)
• ActionScript programming allows multi browser support
• Easy to use interface requires little employee training.

N-Tier Data Stream:
This project involved automating the manual processing of client information that was fed into a dispatch department for a foods preparation organization. The information was being pushed by the client to an internal printer (basically an AS400 System pushing data to a remote terminal/printer). Once the information was printed, dispatch personnel would perform various hand calculations and distribute the information throughout the organization.
Initial Issues:

• Information is very time sensitive. A delivery that is moments late can be very costly for the organization.
• High liability when information is not accurate.
• Overhead costs are maximized and need to be reduced.
• Unable to change/update the systems that feed the information into the organization.
